What to wear in a red legged partridge shooting

Red legged partridge shooting, especially the driven hunting method, is a practice of great tradition in Spain, mainly thanks to its beauty and elegance.

Nowadays, the practice of autochthonous red-legged partridge shooting is a privilege for which it’s worth being diligently prepared, choosing carefully our guns, the best hunting reserve and the most suitable clothes.

Tips for choosing the most suitable clothes for a partridge shooting

If we are going to attend a partridge shooting, it’s important to keep in mind three important things: freedom of movement, comfort and stability, always combined with the style and elegance distinctives of this hunting method. Let’s analyze which are the most recommended clothes:

Flat cap, always equipped with an eyeshade to prevent glares.

– Comfortable, durable and waterproof footwear, always with thick socks. The shoes must be custom-made, in order to fit the foot completely and to provide as most stability as possible.

– Fine woolen shirt combined with a warm and comfortable jumper.

Woolen or flannel trousers to protect us from the cold.

– Instead of a coat, it’s recommended to wear a vest, which allows a greater freedom of movement during the shooting. Usually, hunters change their vests for jackets before lunch and other formal moments.

– Anti-recoil pads are very useful to soften the annoying and dangerous gun’s recoil produced after each shot.

– Also, wearing a woolen tie can provide us an extra touch of elegance, always matching it with our shirt and jumper.
