Driven hunting tips: recommended equipment

Red-legged partridge driven hunting is one of the most gratifying outdoor activities, although it can also be uncomfortable and exhausting due to the land’s orography and the large number of hours of exercise. To avoid a bad experience, we must start our trip as prepared and equipped as possible, provided of some essential items:

Clothing

Wearing comfortable clothes is vital. Cotton and wool ítems  are the most recommended, as they allow freedom of movement at the same time they keep us warm. Also, we must include in our outfit a pair of gloves, a hat and a raincoat.

Accessories

Before the beggining of the trip, we need to make sure we have some useful, and even indispensable, ítems: a flashlight, a knife, binoculars, a bottle of water and a backpack to carry everything comfortably.

It is convenient to wear a cartridge belt to carry our cartridges along the trip.

Guns and ammunition

As we have mentioned in other posts, double-barreled shotguns are the most commonly used in driven hunting. Also, 7-8 lead shots would be the most recommended.

To get ready, we must always clean and check the gun in depth two or three days before the trip.
